My name is Lynece Benton-Stewart, a doctoral candidate at Trevecca Nazarene University in the Clinical Counseling, Teaching, and Supervision program. This study is being conducted under the supervision of John Kennedy, Ph.D. I am researching the potential relationships between shame coping styles and counseling self-efficacy. Results will aid educators, training institutions, and counseling facilities in equipping supervisors to be competent in helping supervisees identify and manage experiences of shame.

The study will involve counselor trainees participating in an online study 15 to 20 minutes in length who (a) are at least 22 years of age, (b) have completed at least 20 hours of counseling experience (c) are currently or have received clinical supervision, and (d) enrolled in a practicum or internship course. The website SurveyMonkey is a secure website that uses the latest data encryption technology to collect and store data securely. To further protect the confidentiality of participants, only minimal demographic and identifying information will be gathered, and your computer's IP address will not be collected.
